My Favorite Ways To Unwind

In my previous post, I mentioned  how it's important for us to just take a step back from life, take a deep breath and just enjoy the moment. Sometimes all we need to do is just switch off from everything and enjoy some quality time with ourselves and just have some "me-time". I can't emphasize enough at how important our mental health is and how it's so important to take some time out of our super busy schedules to just unwind and de-stress. Especially nowadays, when things like Anxiety, Depression is so common, it is so important that we incorporate some sort of Self-Care routine in order for us to stay healthy, not just physically but mentally and emotionally too.

In this post, I thought it would be nice to share with you some of the things that I like to do to unwind and de-stress

  1. HAVE A BATH
Everyone loves a good long bath and so do I. There is nothing nicer to ease your mind than running a nice hot bath, locking the doors, putting some candles on and just relaxing. Whilst many people use products like the LUSH bath bombs, I like to use Mineral Bath Salts in my bath as there are so many benefits in using them. I like to dissolve certain amounts into the bath water, and just lay back and relax

Himalayan Salt - it is an excellent detoxifier for the body which has over 80 Minerals. It also helps to smooth out the skin and gives you a healthy, radiant look

Epsom Salt - it helps relax tired, stiff and aching muscles. I especially like to have a long soak in Epsom Salt Bath Water when I am recovering from a cold and suffer an aching body

Magnesium Flakes - these flakes help calm and destress the mind and body. It also aids in supporting a healthy sleeping pattern

  1. READ A BOOK
I absolutely love reading and this is definitely one of the main things I like to do to unwind. Those few hours cosied up by the fire, with a hot mug of tea and a good book is another easy way to relax and put my mind at ease.

  1. SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY
With our busy schedules and stressful lives, we often do not spend enough quality time with our families. So I make it so, that I go over to my sisters house and spend a good few hours with my sisters and nieces and nephew. Family to me is very important, and I wouldn't be where I am today without them, so spending time with them is key for me to feel at ease and de-stressed.

  1. GO FOR A WALK
When was the last time you got into contact with nature? When was the last time you went to the park and went for a walk and just breathed in the beautiful nature surrounding you? Take yourself out of the house, out of your work office, out of your college and university and just get into contact with nature. Go for a stroll in the park, go for a hike, just get up and go for a walk, and believe me you will automatically feel at ease and de-stressed. I for one love walking, and the best part of where I live is that I have 2 local parks, so occasionally, I like to get out of the house, put my earphones in and just go for a nice long stroll

  1. HAVE A HOT DRINK
I personally love drinking tea, it is my absolute favorite hot drink. So every night, I like to make myself a hot cup of tea, dim the lights in my room, put on my diffuser, get under the covers and enjoy my tea in peace.

  1. PAMPER
         We all love a good pamper and facial. So alongside my long hot bath, I like to incorporate my             own mini facial, throw in a face mask and enjoy a little pamper time
