January Skincare Round Up

15:40

Having being born with and grown up with Eczema, I have always struggled to find the perfect products that I could use that wouldn't irritate my skin and trigger my eczema to flare up. So because of this, I was never into skincare because of the fear that if I use a certain product it would trigger it to come back. The only "skincare" I had incorporated into my everyday life was slapping on coconut oil, Aveeno and E45 all over my face.

I've never had any issues with spots or breakouts which is a good thing, but occasionally, on my bad skin days, I get cracks on my upper lip and around my mouth because of my eczema and till this day I don't know what the trigger is. Maybe it's something I'm eating, maybe it's the messed up England weather, I don't know.

But anyway, come 2017 when I finally meet Sophia (PhosBeauty) on Instagram, I decided I wanted to take a risk with the skincare and I'm not going to lie, my skincare game has stepped up to another level. I've learnt so much about skincare that I didn't know about before and already I feel a big difference with my skin. Yes of course, I still have bad skin days, but that's inevitable. So I thought I would dedicate this post to the skincare products I've purchased in the month of January, the ones which I've used and loved so far

Cleansers
For my first cleanse I have absolutely fallen in love with The Body Shop Chamomile Oil Cleanser (as recommended by PhosBeauty of course). Not going to lie, but with just a couple of pumps, it literally melts off the make up from my face. It's made taking my make up off so much more easier. And on the plus side, it smells really nice too and makes your skin feel so soft. I used to use the Garnier Miceller Water, but I felt like that was just too time consuming so this Cleanser has become my life.

Moving onto my second cleanse, the Una Brennan Vitamin C Cleansing Oil has won a place in my heart. It literally makes my skin feel amazing and so soft.

Exfoliate
I have quite a few scrubs/masks, which I don't use everyday. I like to switch to different ones every 2/3 days. From the scrubs/masks I do own, I have become completely obsessed with the L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks especially the Glow Mask and the Glow Scrub (which was recently released). I also recently purchased The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Liquid Peel, but to be honest, I've only used this once and I really don't know how I feel about it. I don't know if it was this or something else that caused my skin to turn red like a bloody tomato. I might have to give this another go before completely disregarding it because I've heard so much about this and have such high hopes for it.

Toners
I don't have much knowledge of toners, but I was advised to start off with using Rose Water. So I already had some Rose Water at home, which I put into a spray bottle. I spray some on my face, and honestly it feels so nice and hydrates my skin.

Moisturizers
So moisturizers has always been something I've used, because of my Eczema my skin tends to get very dry. A few of my favourite moisturizers is Aveeno, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream and of course the cream that has been my Holy Grail since I was born, the good old E45 cream. I'm always having to moisturize throughout the day (when I'm not wearing make up) because my hands and face tend to dry up a lot, so I like to have a small Vitamin E cream in my bag handy.

These are just a few of my most used, most loved Skincare products, and I hope that this collection also grows like my make up collection.
